We just had our 38 week appointment. I had a hunch that I was still going to be 3 cm dilated but I was hoping to be effaced. Well....
I am 3 cm dilated and 75% effaced! The doctor thinks that I will go into labor tonight or tomorrow but definitely by the end of the weekend. He said that he never tells patients' when he thinks that they will go into labor but I am so close, he felt confident in saying it will literally be any time and that a walk would probably push me over the edge.
Even though I really want my doctor to deliver me (he isn't on-call this weekend so I will get some random doctor in the group), I decided to give Mark the night to work and hope I go into labor tomorrow when my doctor is still working!
As we were leaving, my doctor said, "Things just got real, folks."
So, I turned to Mark and said, "Mark, he means that this shit just got real!"
